MY NAME IS Hannah
I'm an Auckland based wedding & elopement photographer. A creative, sentimental little soul.
I have always been creatively minded and curious about how people interact. The interaction between humans, the real type of connection. At the end of the day, these perfectly imperfect moments, even the smallest ones, are what mean the most. They are the ones you look back on fondly. The way someone smiles when trying not to, or how they always grab your hand and give it a squeeze. People are filled with these tiny moments and I love watching for them.
That and being massively obsessed with the medium, photographing people in love became a very natural extension.
I really enjoy the side of photography where I get to have a yarn with your slightly crazy uncle, or your mum who's had a few too many wines. These are the times where little stories come out, things unfold even more and suddenly there's this whole different side to you both as a couple that I'm seeing and it's bloody fantastic!
I'm a very empathetic, emotional person and I believe it's such an advantage when finding someone to come and photograph you. Photography is a very intimate, personal thing and you need to feel completely comfortable and at ease with the person you are letting into that space. It's so much more than just taking a pretty picture. The whole experience surrounding the process is just as important.
I also love a good roadie. One of my favourite things to do is head out on my own, crank up some music and see where I end up. There's so many beautiful areas to explore and I always end up meeting the most wonderful people along the way. I highly recommend!

My biggest inspiration comes from the people I photograph. A little corny I know, but it's true. When I'm photographing you and your completely at ease and in the moment, that is when the magic starts to happen! That is when I really start to get inspired!
These then become the photographs that will help you relive your day again and again. When your memories start to fade, you'll cherish these images more and more.
Imagine sitting down together, you've just celebrated thirty years married and you pull out your wedding album. What do you want to see? How do you want to remember the day you got hitched?

WHAT INSPIRES ME
I very much love art. I live and breathe that world. My shelves are full of various books because outside my need to collect old cameras, I need to have books in my life!
It goes straight back to the tangible way of looking at photographs ~ I enjoy nothing more than flicking through a beautifully designed, well made photo book. Although on the flip side I am damn good at reading a Dr Seuss book, super fast to my kids haha. One of my favs is Fox in Socks.

MY FAVOURITE THINGS
From the very first email to the last when i've delivered all your beautiful photographs, i'll be buzzing with excitement for you both. It genuinely brings me so much joy to be able to pass on the love I have for photography to you and show you all the amazing little things from your wedding day or session with me that you potentially didn't even notice.
In the lead up i'm always available to bounce ideas off, help wiggle the timeline, ease your concerns and just generally help ~ think of me like a bonus bridesmaid.
On the day i'll turn up early, absolutely pumped and ready to capture one of the most important days in your life. Need a coffee run in the morning, I've got you! I'm not just there to photograph you and leave, but to make sure your days runs smoothly and you have the best possible time getting hitched! From all my experience at other weddings, i've gotten pretty damn good at this.
I'll be there in the centre of it all or as a wallflower behind the scenes, photographing moments and details that you might’ve missed (Aunty Doris getting drunk on the d-floor). Moving with the flow of the day and having some good yarns with your family and friends at the same time.
At the end of the night when i've left you to continue dancing up a storm, i'll be straight home to back up all your precious images. There's no sleep until I know they are safe.

There's not much that I love more than photography. I'm thoroughly obsessed with the medium!
There is one thing though when it comes to photographing you that trumps everything else.. Your experience!
Before my concern over the location/light/what you're wearing, I'm most concerned with how you're feeling! I care most about whether you're having a fantastic time hanging out with me and feel confident and happy in front of my camera.
Having your photograph taken is such a personal thing. It's a real intimate moment, invasion into you as a person and that is always at the forefront of my mind. I want you to feel so at ease with me and if you don't I've completely failed and it has nothing to do with you as a person. You are uniquely beautiful just the way you are!
